With 24 years’ service with 22 Special Air Service, experience with COBRA and as Head of the UK Counter Terrorist Wing, Floyd leads Quantum’s team of experts, and was a top 50 fintech founder by leading industry publication The Financial Technologist. Floyd has an excellent track record of success as a Military Leader, Director and Negotiator, working with government agencies and police forces throughout the UK and overseas, assessing operational readiness and crisis management action plans. He also founded the Compass for Life Foundation in 2019, and delivers elite performance training to executives of some of the UK’s biggest companies, as well as the UK National Health Service and other government agencies, including the Police and First Response Agencies.
Peter trained as a commodity futures broker and foreign currency trader in the City of London, developing trading algorithms and pioneering, deliverable FX platforms. He spent two years with the Parachute Regiment and three years with 21 Special Air Service before joining Spectrum, and has since accumulated over 25 years of experience with specialist security providers, during which time he has also been active in assisting the development of several companies in the financial services sector. Peter has extensive contacts and experience across several market sectors, both in the UK and abroad and has worked closely with Floyd Woodrow on a number of high-level projects, prior to establishing specialist security company Valkyrie – and later Quantum Group – with Floyd in 2009.
Steven Strauss is a very experienced accountant and a Fellow of the ICAEW. He was senior partner of Simmons Gainsford LLP, a top 50 West End accountancy firm from 2005 until 2017, when he stepped down to develop a number of commercial opportunities.
Steven has a very strong financial, tax and advisory background and in addition has considerable commercial experience, advising and consulting corporate entities on a wide range of matters including companies seeking a quote on the London Stock Exchange, advising overseas Governments on restructuring of their tax systems, undertaking international structuring for multi-nationals and advised on complex transactions at both corporate and shareholder level. He has been a Director of an Australian quoted company, Chairman of an International payments solution company, and a Director of several private companies covering Financial Services, Insurance Broking, Procurement Services, Outsourced Debt Management, Human Resource Services, Asset Management and Renewal Energy Solutions. Steven is a Trustee of a major UK Charity and holds a number of executive roles delivering excellence in financial governance and brings his wealth of experience and knowledge to the Quantum Group.
Graham Smith is an international Payment Specialist with a strong track record of managing teams, strategic clients and programmes delivering the highest levels of customer experience that enable companies to realise a healthy return on investment in the financial services, retail and card payments sector. He has extensive knowledge of multi-channel B2B and B2C card payment solutions and regulatory requirements, specialises in guiding boards, clients and suppliers to solutions that deliver business requirements and open up sales opportunities. Combining excellent programme director skills with strong bid management, client focus, sales and financial controls, Graham is a calm leader and coach, and excels in building trusting relationships at all levels that overcome traditional barriers to change.
